Privacy policy

Here at DLH Design Associates UK Ltd we respect the privacy of our clients. The personal information we collect about you is only used to provide a better service. Any information that you provide is kept secure.

We collect your name and address, email address and telephone numbers, correspondence and also any other types of data you may provide to us during the course of our contract.

We may process your data for the purpose of our company’s legitimate interest such as keeping your records for future reference, should you instruct us further in a number of years.

We collect data about you either directly from you or from a third party you have instructed to contact us. This may be in the form of talking to us either on the phone or in person, sending us emails or letters or contacting us via website.

We envisage that we will keep your data for at least 7 years after our initial contact comes to an end. We may share your personal data with thirds parties should this be necessary to progress your case in accordance with your instruction or it is necessary to do this to comply with a legal requirement. The third parties we are likely to share your data with are Planning Authorities, The Planning Inspectorate, third party consultants such as structural engineers, environmental consultants and highway consultants. We may also have to pass your details onto our accountants for the purpose of auditing our accounts and external IT service providers who provide essentials IT functionalities. We will always seek assurances from these companies that they adhere to the same standards of data protection as we do.

You have the right to object to us processing your data during out contract. However this could mean that we are not able to represent you and the outcome you seek may not be possible to obtain.

You may also object to us processing your data after the contract comes to an end. We will do our best to comply with your objection. However if we decide that we need to process your personal data for a valid reason, such as defending our interests in court or other legitimate interests of our company, we do not have to comply with your objection and may legally process the data further. We will always inform you in writing of our decision and reasons for this.

You have the right to see the data that we hold about you and any requests to do so should be in writing.

The information about your computer detailed above is written to a text log file held on our web server. These log files are only accessible to the Web Manager at DLH Design Associates and the server administrators at the third-party hosting company that manage the server.
